Manchester

Manchester está a apenas 39 milhas de distância de Sheffield. O ticket de ida e volta do trem custa £10. Nem lembro quantas vezes eu viajei a partir do aeroporto de Manchester. E mesmo assim só fim de semana passada eu fui conhecer a cidade. Que vergonha!
Fomos eu, Cris e Inês. Passamos uma tarde bem bonita por lá. Até o tempo ajudou na cidade da chuva!
Eu não achei Manchester uma cidade monumental, mas é visivelmente mais cosmopolita que Sheffield. E como toda metrópole é uma cidade cheia de coisas interessantes pra se fazer.
Como não tínhamos muito tempo, passeamos pelo centro e fomos até a região do porto onde existe uma galeria linda: The Lowry.
Lá me chamou atenção a exposição de Ian Skoyles. Ele fazia uma espécie de colagem com quebra-cabeças. Genial!
Arrependimentos? Ter deixado Manchester para última hora, quando ela merece ser deliciada aos pouquinhos e de muitas vezes.

Manchester
Manchester is located at only 39 miles away from Sheffield. The return ticket by train costs £10. I can’t even remember how many times I’ve flown from Manchester airport. And still, only last weekend I went there to get to know the city. What a shame!
There it was me, Cris and Ines. We’ve spent a lovely afternoon, even the weather helped in the city with a reputation for rain!
I don’t think Manchester is a place for sightseeing, but it is obviously more cosmopolitan than Sheffield. And as in all metropolis, it is a city with loads of interesting things to do.
We didn’t have much time, so we walked about in the town and then we went to the quays where there is a beautiful gallery: The Lowry.
There it was a exhibition by Ian Skoyles. He used to do this kinds of collage with jigsaws. Brilliant!
Regrets? Leaving Manchester for the last minute, when it really should have been tasted little by little many times.
