Desafio de Setembro: Eleanor!

Semana passada terminei outro trabalho com retalhos. Mais um presente de despedida pra meus amigos, dessa vez a Eleanor.
Segundo Inês o meu acabamento está muito melhor!! É impressionante como só mesmo com a prática se vai chegando lá. Meu objetivo maior agora é atingir um acabamento perfeito!
A idéia pra essa manta veio mais uma vez do Doll Quilt Challenge, um grupo do Flickr.
A manta não segue as regras do grupo, que só aceita desafios no tamanho pra bonecas, mas eu não resisti: fiz essa com 118x153cm.
Uma coisa diferente dessa vez foi que não pus entretela, ou seja, não vai ser a manta mais quente do inverno. Como minha vida tem sido um pouco corrida nessas últimas semanas, não tive tempo de ir ao centro comprar. Mas também eu me lembrei que minha Avó nunca colocava entretela nas colchas de retalho dela, e mesmo assim ficavam lindas. Meu medo era que a manta não ficasse firme. Mas ai eu fiz um matelassê, que além de produzir um efeito de diamante bonitinho no avesso, segurou a coisa toda no lugar direitinho!
Mais uma amiga quentinha pra quando eu for embora!!

September Challenge: Eleanor!
Last week I finished another patchwork project, as a farewell gift to my friend Eleanor.
According to Inês my finishing is getting much better! It is amazing how you can only get better with practice. My goal is to achieve a perfect finishing!
The idea for this throw came once again from the Flickr group Doll Quilt Challenge. It has 118 x 153cm, so it is beyond the rules for the group, but still, I couldn’t resist!
This time I did something different: I didn’t use wadding, so it won’t be the warmest throw in town this winter. I’ve been so busy that I didn’t have time to go to the city to buy. But then again, my Granny never used wadding and still her quilts look beautiful.
I was afraid that without wadding the throw would sag, but I’ve quilted it in a dimond shape that looked nice from the reverse, and also held everything in place just right!!
I’m leaving another friend warm for when I go away!!
